Description
Among the pasta machines for home use the Imperia iPasta is the best-selling and most famous model in the world! This simple but functional pasta sheet and extruding machine is produced by the leading Italian pasta machine manufacturer called Imperia & Monferrina S.p.a.
This traditional model of pasta machine is now called iPasta. Previous names were SP150, indicating Sfoglia Pasta 150 mm (which is the nominal size of the rollers) or 'Luxury model', for the special accessories and care with which it is manufactured.
The product arrives packaged in a beautiful lithographed cardboard box with a red background and the Imperia logo prominently displayed on all sides. Opening the package immediately shows how the pasta machine is housed in the box, with the crank and clamp ready for assembly. In the packet you will also find the device's user and maintenance manual.
When you first see the product, you immediately see that it is made up of two parts: the base, which is the sheeter, and an accessory to be mounted on the back with rollers shaped in different shapes to make the dough. In fact, the sheeter is the main part. It attaches to the table with the clamp and has the hole on the side to insert the crank. It also has a wheel with a pin to adjust the thickness of the sheet. As with all pasta machines, the Imperia iPasta allows you to obtain the sheet of various thicknesses. While preparing the mixture, the dough obtained is passed through the rollers of the sheeter to flatten it and compact it. Various passages with gradually decreasing thicknesses make it possible to obtain a long sheet of pasta of the ideal thickness for drawing it and having long pasta for baking.
Usually, with the sheet ready, you proceed to make pasta, unless the sheet is needed for other types of preparations. You move the crank into one of the two holes of the included cutter attachment and insert the sheet between the rollers. By turning the crank, the rollers start to rotate and pull the sheet of pasta. The steel rollers press the sheet and thus cut it. The pasta is drawn and the noodles or fettuccine.
Obviously this machine can also mount other accessoriessuch as special pasta cuts, ravioli and gnocchi options, motor.
The rollers supplied have a nominal width of 15 centimetres. The maximum sheet size, however, is somewhat smaller because the rollers themselves are inserted inside the side caps. Therefore, the maximum sheet width that can be achieved with the Imperia iPasta manual steel pasta machine is about 14 centimetres.
