This is a used and reconditioned tomato squeezer, with an acetal resin body and propeller replaced. The tomato squeezer has been tested and works perfectly, and the accessories have been cleaned. However, there are obvious signs of yellowing, due to use and contact with the tomato, in the pestle and the nylon component of the drive pin. The filter cone has traces of contact with the tomato in the welds. The plastic funnel also has slight scratches on the inner surface.

All cosmetic defects listed in no way affect the proper functioning of the tomato squeezer, which is sold as used and reconditioned. We will therefore not accept product returns due to the presence of the cosmetic defects listed.

The body of this REBER ARTUS Electric tomato squeezer No. 3 HP 0.30 450 Watt plastic accessories 9008NE is a plastic derivative, it is not made of cast iron. Special care must therefore be taken when assembling the body and auger. It must be avoided that the auger and drive pin generate friction on the body. Conversely, this can swell and damage it. Damage of this kind is not covered by warranty and cannot be replaced or repaired by us.

For better sauce yield it is always recommended to blanch the tomatoes before pureeing them. Otherwise, it is normal that parts of the tomatoes may remain attached to their skins. With uncooked tomatoes, it is normal to have to pass the skins a second time (it is advisable to use a little of the puree already produced in order to allow the tomato residue to flow more smoothly).

 

Differences between engine wattage and engine HP horsepower

The power of REBER motors is typically expressed in watts. The wattage of the motors generally indicates the amount of power in Watts that the motor absorbs from the electrical system. Multiplying this instant value by the hours gives the current absorption in Watts/hour.

Conversely, the expression of power in HP, i.e. motor horsepower, indicates how much power motors are able to transform into work. The greater the power absorbed from the mains into work, the greater the motor's power. In fact, many motors, while absorbing a lot of power from the mains, are not very powerful. This is because they absorb energy but do not transform it into work, but rather disperse it, typically in heat and internal rotor rotation useless for the application they are designed for.

REBER No.3 motors have a 4-pole electrical winding and make half the revolutions per minute (2800) of many competitors. This means that, for the same amount of current absorbed (400 watts), the REBER motor performs better. In fact, it transforms more energy into work, dispersing less of it in heat.

 

Plastic body

The body of the REBER 9008NE is made entirely of acetal resin and not of cast iron. Cast iron, of course, withstands the strain much better. To get an electric tomato press model of the same power and size but with a cast-iron body, you need to buy the code 9008N.

 

 

 

Acetal resin inner propeller, not aluminium or cast iron

The internal propeller of REBER Electric Tomato Squeezer No. 3 HP 0.30 450 Watt 9008NE is made entirely of acetal resin, i.e. a plastic material suitable for contact with foodstuffs. In fact, this material guarantees perfect resistance to the acids typically contained in tomatoes and sauces. In contrast, materials such as cast iron and aluminium do not have these properties. They, in fact, release ferrous substances to the sauces. For this reason, it is important not to buy substandard products or products that do not also have these properties.

 

 

Accessories made entirely of moplen

The other accessories of the REBER ARTUS 9008NE tomato squeezer are entirely made of moplen, except for the filter, which is made of 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel.

 

Red cap and black cap on the engine: should they be changed or not?

For those who have been familiar with REBER tomato squeezer engines for some time, you will be faced with the Hamletic question: should the red motor cap be changed or not? Why is the black ventilation cap no longer included? How do I carry out the replacement that used to have to be done?

This simple question is now answered: the red cap no longer needs to be changed! And why is it no longer changed? Simply because the black plug that came with it was a plug with a breather. It had to be replaced with the red cap because the lubricated oil contained in the flange and greasing the gears tended to expand and produce small amounts of fumes. This, in the past, created an increase in pressure inside the engine and could create problems.

Well, today all these problems are gone because theREBER engine gear lubricating oil has been replaced with an oil that no longer produces these problems. Therefore, the red cap that only served to close the flange and prevent oil from escaping during transport no longer needs to be replaced!
